About Patricia Halstead

Patricia Halstead I consider Southern California my home since I\'ve lived here for the last 35 years.
There is so much beauty in nature and that is what inspires me the most; therefore I have done many floral and
landscape paintings.
I like to work in any media that will put an image on a surface including, watercolor, oils, acrylics, pastels and
oil pastels.
I\'ve always enjoyed drawing and painting ever since I can remember and was always encouraged to be creative
by my family. Unfortunately, I wasn\'t able to work as an artist when I needed to make a living because there weren\'t
the art careers available that there are these days because of the computer.
When my two children grew up, I was able to go to college and major in art and design, that with some courses in
watercolor have given me a good background on technique.
I have shown my work in local shows and galleries but lately have painted mostly for my own satisfaction. Now that
the walls in my home are full, I would like to start showing my work again.
